On March 24th, 2016, I drove to the city of Boston by myself to the Sheraton Boston Hotel to get my registration badge for Anime Boston. I’ve already registered for Anime Boston online months ago so I’m already prepared. It was my first time driving to Boston by myself using a GPS and I was very brave facing the traffic. I finally found a parking garage very close to the Sheraton Boston Hotel and Hynes Convention Center. On March 25th, 2015, I dressed as Ash Ketchum from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl but it was a different costume. It was an awesome day to go to my first ever Largest Anime Convention: Anime Boston. It was a little different from the Rhode Island Comic Con I went to last year because it’s more anime. The convention features a lot of events like a masquerade, an amine music video contest, video programming rooms, an artists alley, art show, karaoke, game show, video games, RPGs (Role Playing Games) and a LARP (Live Action Role Playing Games). When I went inside the Hynes Convention Center, there was a lot of people in costume just like me. I feel like I’m part of the cosplaying family that likes to dress up as our favorite characters from a cartoon, anime, movie and etc. I was exploring around Hynes Convention Center and there was a lot of toys, video games, manga books, comic books, posters, and much more. I got myself a poster of Tales of Vesperia, a Nintendo 64 t-shirt, a Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y wallet, Primal Reversion Kyogre stuffed animal, a Dragonball Z Manga Book, a Rurouni Kenshin Manga Book, and a Dragonball Z wood board poster. I notice someone dressed up as a NetNavi Megaman from the anime series Megaman NT Warrior and I decided to have someone to picture of me and Megaman. When I was walking around the Hynes Convention Center, some people noticed my Ash Ketchum costume from Diamond and Pearl. They decided to take a picture of me and my stuffed animal Pikachu. I feel like a celebrity when I cosplay. The amazing thing that happened at Anime Boston is that I saw Team Rocket and challenged them to a Pokémon Battle. I beat them with my Pikachu. I have someone to take a picture of me challenging Team Rocket. The other amazing thing is that I saw a girl dressed up as Brock: the Pewter City Gym Leader from Pokémon Kanto. She showed me a custom-made Boulder Badge and it looks cool. She said that I could have it because she has a lot of custom-made Boulder Badges but I rather earn it first. I challenge her to a Pokémon Battle for the Boulder Badge but we used our imagination. She choose Onix and I bring out my Primal Reversion Kyogre stuffed animal out of my bag. I got the advantage because Rock Pokémon are weak to Water Pokémon. I beat her Onix with my Primal Reversion Kyogre using Water Spout. Then she choose Geodude as her last Pokémon and I finish it off with a surf attack. Finally, I beat Brock and I got my Boulder Badge. I thank her for the Boulder Badge. The saddest thing is that I didn’t meet any guests or get enough picture but I had an excellent time at the 2016 Anime Boston. Next time I’ll go to the 2017 Anime Boston, I will meet any guests and take more pictures. Overall, I had an awesome time at the 2016 Anime Boston. 🙂 For more information about Anime Boston, go to www.animeboston.com #AnimeBoston #AnimeBoston2016 #Animeconvention #Popculture #AshKetchumDiamondandPearlCosplay
